This Privacy Policy explains how GreenFlag (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the GreenFlag app, website, and services (“Services”). Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account or using GreenFlag, you agree to our practices as described here.

1. Definitions

• GreenFlag: The GreenFlag dating application, operated in the USA.
• User/You: Anyone registering with or using the GreenFlag services.
• Account: Your personal GreenFlag profile.
• AI Matches/Explore: Describes match categories per our app’s design.
• GF Tokens: In-app currency purchased or earned to access premium GreenFlag features.
• Premium: Additional paid services or subscriptions on GreenFlag.

3. Information We Collect

We collect data in three main ways: when you provide it, automatically during use, and from third parties with your consent.

3.1. Data You Provide

• Registration & Profile:

   

  • Name, age, gender, photo(s), location/city, email or phone, sexual orientation/preferences, interests, and profile prompts.
  • Optional: Personality/MBTI responses, interests, lifestyle, education, profession, video/photo for profile verification.
• User Content: Information you post, search queries, messages, likes, matches, feedback, support requests, reports, surveys, etc.
• Payment: We process records of payments/purchases, but do NOT store your credit/debit card info (handled by App Stores or payment processors).

3.2. Data We Collect Automatically

• Device Info:
  • Device type/model, OS, unique IDs (e.g., advertising ID), app version, IP address, crash logs, language.
• Usage Data:
  • Search behavior, match activity, feature use, login/session times, interactions, rate limits, cooldown events.
• Location:
  • Approximate city/region (required for use); precise geolocation if you grant access in the app.
  • Location is used for matching and not shown exactly to other users.

  • Cookies and similar tools are used for authentication, analytics, remembering settings, and serving relevant content. See our Cookie Policy.
   

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

4.1. Provide and Operate GreenFlag Services

• Create/manage your account and profile
• Enable searching, matching, messaging, and premium features
• Authenticate and verify your identity
• Store and display your user content
• Enforce daily limits, rate limits, and cooldown periods

4.2. Matchmaking and Personalization

• Power the AI search system for best-match recommendations based on your interactions, searches, and profile data
• Adapt app experience to your preferences and app usage

4.3. Safety and Moderation

• Moderate content, detect fraud, enforce app rules
• Process reports and block/suspend malicious or non-compliant users
• Verify profiles for authenticity (using photo/video if you choose)

4.4. Communications & Notifications

• Send transactional emails/push notifications for new matches, messages, app updates, offers, and feature changes
• Send newsletters or marketing—you can unsubscribe any time

4.5. Improve and Secure GreenFlag

• Analyze usage to improve features and quality
• Diagnose and address bugs or system issues
• Protect app and user data from unauthorized access or misuse

5. Legal Bases for Processing (where applicable)

• Contract: To provide you with GreenFlag services according to our Terms of Service.
• Consent: For optional features (e.g., geolocation, marketing, profile verification).
• Legitimate Interest: For app security, analytics, anti-fraud, or feature improvement.
• Legal Obligation: To comply with laws and cooperate with authorities as needed.

6. Sharing Your Data

• Other Users:

   

  • Information on your public profile (name, photo, prompts, age, etc.) is visible to other users.
  • Messaging is visible only to you and your matched users (not to others).

  • We use secure third-party partners (e.g., cloud providers, analytics, payment processors, customer support tools) who may have access only as needed to perform their work and under strict confidentiality.
• Legal, Security, or Safety:

   

  • To comply with legal process, enforce our policies, or protect the rights, property, or safety of GreenFlag, our users, or the public.
• Business Changes:

   

  • In the case of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or reorganization, your data may be transferred per applicable law.

We do NOT sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketers without your consent.

7. International Data Transfers

Most user data is hosted in the United States. If we process or store your data outside your country (e.g., for technical support), we’ll ensure it is protected in line with US law and industry standards.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data:

• For as long as your account is active and up to 12 months after deletion (for backup, dispute resolution, and compliance/legal purposes), then securely delete or anonymize it.
• We may retain anonymized/aggregated analytics indefinitely.

9. Your Rights

Subject to local law, you have the right to:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data (subject to our legal data retention policy)
• Object to certain data processing
• Withdraw consent at any time for optional features (e.g., geolocation)

10. Children’s Privacy

GreenFlag is for users 18 and older only. If you believe a minor is using GreenFlag, please contact us. We will take steps to verify and remove their data promptly.

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption, access controls, monitoring, etc.) to protect your data. However, no system can be 100% secure—please also protect your account info and report any suspicious activity.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have certain rights regarding their personal data. We honor these to the extent required by law, including:

• Right to know what data we collect and how it’s used
• Right to request deletion (with exceptions)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights
